Listening to your gut, your heart and that little voice in your head is a great way to live your life. As of recently I’ve tried more than ever to do just that. As I drove home after this wedding I felt an incredible sense of unity with the people in attendance. They were all there supporting and celebrating David and Michael’s choice to be married. As I listened to them exchange their personal, handwritten vows I realized it has not been an easy journey for them to be open with their love for one another. However, on this day they were willing to let their family, friends and perfect strangers witness their willingness to BE THEMSELVES and commit to a marriage full of love and encouragement. Their ceremony was beautiful. I loved their use of Native American traditions and gave thanks to the earth and the Creator. David made their matching vests and bow ties from fabric they purchased in Paris and also made a sweet accessory for their dog Delta. These two made my job so easy! They were an absolute delight to photograph and the weather was just perfect! My favorite part of the day was the “Awards Ceremony” during the reception. David and Michael gave awards to their guests for such things as, “Youngest Guest”, “Person Invited Who They Never Met” and “Furthest Distance Traveled to Attend”. They made it so fun and hilarious! You couldn’t help but smile the whole time!
I’m so grateful they picked me to be their photographer. Congratulations David & Michael!!!
