You know the saying, “this money is burning a hole in my pocket”… Well this blog post has been burning a hole in my computer! After a week of fighting off the flu I finally have the time/energy to blog some of my favorite images from our session! Stevie and Jeff are so excited for their baby girl to get here and I just know it’s going to be any day now. Stevie is 40 weeks and I’m anxiously awaiting the news of her arrival. What a beautiful couple and soon to be parents. I had so much fun photographing Stevie in her beautiful (self-made) flower crown and LOLA dresses. Stevie and Jeff have wonderful hearts and are always looking for ways to help and give back. Check our their shops in Olympia, WA and online. LOLA Lifestyle Boutique and Hawks Prairie/Northwest Home Furnishings. Thanks Olson Family!
I have Instagram to thank for being the catalyst to this amazing shoot! I started following bymisha a while back and I’ve always loved her gypsy popup tent. One Sunday on a whim I went to the Fremont Sunday Market and finally got the chance to meet Malia in person. Malia moved here from Hawaii and is bringing her bohemian spirit and style to the PNW. Her shop is filled with beautiful handmade dream catchers, exotic jewelry and awesome vintage finds. bymisha is in Seattle every Sunday and also goes to Puyallup too for those of us a little further down south. If you can’t make it to her rad gypsy tent, you can purchase everything from her website too! It’s actually hard to express how much I enjoyed photographing her “sunseeker lookbook”. I’m over the moon and back about what we captured! The location, the models, the styling, the light…I was in creative, metallic tattoo, free-spirit heaven. Thank you to our awesome models, Jordan Lydia (A Yin Yoga teacher in Everett) and Jessica from His and Her Fashion for braving the cold and looking incredible in every shot. I hope you all enjoy these images as much as I do and I can’t wait to work Shop by Misha again in the future! *If you want to see me in action you can check out Malia’s blog!
Love is pretty great, isn’t it? You find someone you want to spend the rest of your life with and BONUS they want to spend the rest of their life with you! It’s a win, win! I felt a connection with Tyler and Amanda very quickly upon meeting them. Easy going, happy with themselves and happy with each other. These are traits that I very much admire and act as a launching point to make meaningful and emotional images. We had so much fun at their session and I have to give Amanda props for helping me style the ring shot. It started with a little moss and we just kept adding. I love how it turned out! Amanda is a creative soul and has an Etsy Shop you can find HERE. Thank you so much for an awesome session you guys! Wishing you much happiness and joy as you count down to your wedding! CONGRATS!

Naulty family, you made my job WAY too easy! Talk about starting my year off on a high note! I had the most wonderful time getting to photograph this bunch and I’ve been dying to share this blog post with you. Right after leaving this session, I wrote the following on my Instagram. “WHY be a photographer? Today’s family session affirmed my love for creating images. In the process of creating an image, I get to make people laugh, I get to make them hug and squeeze each other, and play and be silly! I get to be creative, make new friends and absorb how to be a great parent. The family I met today (for the first time) kept saying throughout the session, “Thank you so much for taking time to capture our family.” Their words made me feel appreciated and so valued. I needed that today. I needed to remember the WHY.” Thank you Naulty family for re-igniting the spark of creativity within me! Enjoy!
Gosh! What a year, what a year! Looking back on 2014 makes me realize what amazing opportunities I’ve had to meet new clients, new friends and new colleagues. I’m so thankful to all of you who have impacted my life over the last 12 months and I hope this post shows how much fun I’ve had in the process! What a WONDERFUL group of people you are!!! I’m a lucky girl that is for sure! It’s crazy to me how some of these images I never shared on Facebook or my blog, not because I didn’t want to, but because I just didn’t have time. #photographerproblems ;)
The last image in the post is of Jared and I at the beach in Seabrook, WA. The beach is our happy place and my goal for 2015 is to have more balance between Poppi Photography and life with my family. Jared and I dedicated many hours to our careers last year and we are excited to play hard and work hard this year. Thank you to my clients who are already filling up my schedule for 2015! If you’d like to schedule a session with me this year, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org! You can also stay up to date with me through my Instagram account.
Lastly, I wanted to give a special thank you to all the other entrepreneurial friends I collaborated with in 2014! What an amazing group of talented, giving, and creative ladies! Cocoa Vita Events \ Harts & Pearls \ Hood Canal Events \ LOLA Lifestyle Boutique \ Meg Newton Photography
